A cyclist died after colliding with a vehicle in Chino on Saturday evening, authorities said.
The cyclist, identified by police as a 37-year-old man who lives in Pomona, was riding a bike along Philadelphia Street near Bridger Avenue when a vehicle struck the man, said Chino police Lt. Nick Marotta. It happened in the 5100 block of Philadelphia.
A witness had phoned police about the crash about 7:24 p.m., Marotta said. Officers arrived to find the 37-year-old lying on the pavement, unresponsive.
Paramedics transported him to Chino Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
Traffic investigators have yet to determine the cause of the crash. It was not clear whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the incident.
