A two-car crash in Rancho Cucamonga on Sunday evening left an 86-year-old woman dead, and sent an 18-year-old man to the hospital.
The crash happened at approximately 5:15 p.m. near Wilson Avenue and San Sevaine Road. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said it happened when a white 2018 Nissan Sentra was traveling west on Wilson Avenue and a 2011 Nissan 300ZX was heading east on the same road.
Authorities said the Sentra driver started to make a left turn onto San Sevaine Road and the vehicle traveled in front of the 300ZX when the cars crashed.
The Sentra was hit on the passenger’s side and rolled. Officials said the driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the Sentra was identified as Barbara Knass, according to the Sheriff’s Department. She was a Rancho Cucamonga resident, coroner’s officials reported. The man who was driving the 300ZX was transported to a local hospital and was stable.
Authorities said the Sheriff’s Department was investigating the crash.
