BREA — A wrong-way driver may be to blame for a fiery crash involving two big rigs this morning on the northbound 57 Freeway in Brea.

The crash occurred near the Imperial Highway exit at 2:40 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

One of the big rig drivers told officers a white sedan was going south in the northbound lanes and crashed right into the semi.

Witnesses told the CHP they saw a man get out of the burning vehicle, but it was unclear if anyone was injured.

All six lanes and the carpool lane of the northbound Orange Freeway were closed at 3:10 a.m., the CHP said.

The Nos. 4, 5 and 6 lanes of the freeway were reopened about 3:40 a.m., but the Nos. 1, 2 and 3 lanes were blocked until further notice.
