Police sought an alleged hit-and-run driver suspected of fatally striking a 46-year-old pedestrian with a car just outside of Lake Elsinore on Friday, Dec. 20.
The crash occurred at about 9:15 p.m. at Grand Avenue and Sangston Drive in the Lakeland Village area, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The male victim was standing on the shoulder of Grand Avenue when he was struck by the front right of a southbound red sedan driven by the male suspect, the CHP said.
The suspect fled the scene, and the victim was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The victim was later identified as Shawn Crouch of Lake Elsinore.
The suspect’s identity and make and model of the suspect vehicle were unknown.
