A Riverside woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder with malice and driving under the influence after a high-speed crash on the streets of Perris killed a pedestrian, authorities said.
Lizbet Diaz, 27, remained in custody Tuesday at the Larry D. Smith Correctional facility in Banning, jail records showed.
She was arrested after the vehicle she was driving sped eastbound on San Jacinto Avenue and struck two parked vehicles and a pedestrian walking on the roadway’s shoulder at Dunlap Drive at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, sheriff’s Sgt. Orlando Castañeda said.
“During the investigation, deputies determined alcohol was a factor in the collision,” Castañeda said.
Diaz was jailed after receiving medical treatment, Castañeda said.
