A 78-year-old Hemet woman died in a head-on crash involving two pickup trucks in Perris, authorities said.
Marina Pena De Reyes was a passenger in a Ford F-150 in the 11:24 a.m. Friday crash.
She was taken to Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley, where she died from her injuries, the Riverside County Coroner’s Office said.
The Ford F-150 was stopped facing eastbound in the left turn lane on West Fourth Street waiting to turn northbound on Navajo Road when a Nissan Frontier going westbound on West Fourth Street veered into the turn lane and struck the Ford head on, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash, the Sheriff’s Department said. The drivers of both trucks and some passengers were injured in the wreck.
The sheriff’s Perris station asked anyone who witnessed the crash to call it at 951-210-1078.
