A Monterey Park man who died in an early-morning single-car crash on the 91 Freeway near the Riverside-Corona border has been identified.
Walter Peralta, 23, was killed just after 3 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, when the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta he was driving veered right, went along a dirt embankment, and struck a freeway sign on the westbound 91 Freeway, east of where it intersects with the 15 Freeway.
He was identified by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
No other details were available. The Jetta’s speed at the time of the crash was not immediately known, and the crash was under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
No others were involved in the collision.
