A San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputy sustained minor injuries Saturday, Aug. 3, after a traffic collision involving one other motorist in Highland.

The deputy was responding to a call for service at about 2:12 p.m., and was stopped at a stop sign on 9th Street and Palm Avenue at the time of the crash, sheriff’s department officials said. A driver behind the wheel of a vehicle that was traveling south toward the intersection lost control and collided with the patrol car. It did not have its lights and siren activated, Sgt. Jeff Allison said.

The deputy was taken to a hospital with minor injuries and later released, department officials said. The other motorist was not injured.
