A woman was hit and killed by a vehicle while crossing the street in Chino on Wednesday night, and police said neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the crash.

The Chino Police Department said the crash happened at around 8:30 p.m., when a 74-year-old Chino woman was walking north across Riverside Drive, just west of 6th Street, when a vehicle that was driven by a 70-year-old man, also from Chino, hit her.

Paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the site of the crash, according to officials. She was later identified by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office as Angelita Henriquez.

Police said the driver of the vehicle that hit Henriquez stayed at the scene at cooperated with the investigation. Riverside Drive was closed for several hours on Wednesday while the Chino Police Department’s Traffic Unit investigated.

Anyone with information on the crash can contact Chino police at 909-334-3018.
