2 people killed in 71 Freeway crash in Chino Hills are identified

The people who died in a traffic collision on the 71 Freeway in Chino Hills on Wednesday, June 12, were identified Friday.

The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office identified the victims as a driver, Jeanine Moncada Rosales, 51, and her passenger, Sonia Moncada, 76, both of Chino Hills. They were pronounced dead at the crash, which happened about 8:15 a.m. in the southbound lanes at Butterfield Ranch Road.

Five other people were injured in the multi-vehicle crash that included an overturned big rig.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating.
