A man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of DUI after three vehicles collided along Highway 79 in San Jacinto, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 7:38 p.m. at the intersection of North Sanderson Avenue and Highway 79, said Deputy Robyn Flores with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Five people, two adults and three children, were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Flores said. Among the injured was a woman, a driver of one of the three cars involved in the crash, who was transported to a local hospital due to complaints of pain.

One of the drivers, a man, was suspected of driving under the influence and was arrested, Flores said. His identity was not immediately available.

Drivers were told to avoid the area during the investigation.
