About 24 hours after the F-16 crash near March Air Reserve Base, the 215 Freeway between Cactus Avenue and Harley Knox Road reopened Friday.

The north-south route through the Inland Empire closed Thursday following the F-16 crash near March Air Reserve Base, that sent 13 people to the hospital, including the pilot.

The freeway between Cactus Avenue and Harley Knox Boulevard reopened just before 5 p.m.

Metrolink spokesman Paul Gonzales said his agency was given the all-clear at 4:58 p.m. Friday and said trains 702, 704 and 706 would run as scheduled on the 91/Perris Valley Line.

Around 3:40 p.m. Thursday, an Air National Guard F-16 fighter jet on a training mission crashed through the roof of the Sea Water warehouse at 22220 Opportunity Way. The pilot had been able to eject from the plane.

People were inside the warehouse, with 12 suffering minor injuries, Cal Fire/Riverside County officials said.

The F-16 Fighting Falcon was training under the direction of the North American Aerospace Defense Command as part of its Aerospace Control Alert, March Base officials said.

Officials confirmed Friday afternoon that the plane was armed at the time of the crash.
