A San Bernardino woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon after a crash that injured two and killed one earlier this year.
The San Bernardino Police Department said in a media release that Kourtni Vinson, 27, ran a red light at the intersection of Highland Avenue and Sierra Way and crashed into another car on Jan. 18 at around 12:15 a.m.
Police said Vinson crashed her Dodge Caliber into a Chrysler 200 that was driven by Richard Cuthbert, a 40-year-old Redlands man. The crash killed Cuthbert and injured two other people in the Chrysler.
“Vinson was under the influence and in stable condition,” police said in a statement.
Police said the case was submitted to the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office after the investigation had concluded, and the District Attorney’s office issued a warrant for Vinson’s arrest.
Vinson was arrested on the afternoon of Tuesday without incident, according to authorities.
Vinson was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving under the influence and causing bodily injury and willful cruelty to a child. She was booked into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga with a $500,000 bail.
Police said there was a white pickup truck that was at the site of the crash that might have witnessed the crash, and investigators want to speak to the driver. That driver or anyone with additional information can contact Sgt. Jeff Harvey or Detective Devin Peck at 909-384-5791.
