An officer with the Hemet Police Department was sent to the hospital with an upper-body injury after a crash on Tuesday evening.
Police said that at around 5:35 p.m., at the intersection of Juanita Street and Central Avenue, an on-duty officer was involved in a collision with a green Honda del Sol.
“The officer was transported to a local hospital via ambulance,” a police statement said. “The officer was alert and speaking with investigators and medical staff.”
The people in the Honda were treated at the scene by medical personnel and spoke with investigators.
Police are investigating and said the officer who was in the crash was stable.
