Pomona officers may have one arrested one person for driving under the influence last week during a checkpoint, but they got nearly two dozen other motorists for other infractions — some of which led to arrests.

The checkpoint was conducted Friday, Jan. 25 at Towne Avenue and Towne Center Drive, the department said in a news release. It also conducted citywide DUI patrols that night.

The checkpoint and DUI saturation resulted in the following:

  • 1,408 vehicles screened
  • 1  DUI-alcohol suspect arrested
  • 21 drivers cited/arrested for operating a vehicle unlicensed or while suspended/revoked

The checkpoint and DUI Saturation Patrols were funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, the release stated.
