A 25-year-old Grand Terrace man died after he was ejected from his pickup truck Monday when it struck a temporary concrete barrier on the southbound 215 Freeway, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The driver, who was not fully identified pending notification of relatives, was in a white Chevrolet S-10 truck traveling at a unknown speed at 7:27 p.m. near the Barton Road crossing in Grand Terrace when the truck went off the roadway and struck the barrier, the CHP said.

The reasons for the crash remain under investigation, the agency said.

The driver was taken a hospital where he died from his injuries. He was the only person in the truck, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The collision was under investigation Tuesday, and the CHP asks anyone with information to contact Officer T. Cockrell at the San Bernardino CHP Office, 909-383-4247.
