A Hemet woman died in a single-car rollover crash early Sunday on Domenigoni Parkway east of Lindenberger Road in Menifee, and the driver, also from Hemet, escaped injury and was arrested, authorities said.
Cindy Oropeza-Soto, 25, was ejected from the car when it rolled in the crash, reported at 4:28 a.m., the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release. She died about four hours later at Inland Valley Regional Medical Center, the Riverside County Coroner’s Office said.
Deputies said the driver, David Rostrosolis, 23, of Hemet, was heading eastbound and fell asleep and struck the parkway’s center median, causing the rollover. He was not hurt, “but was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol,” the release said.
Jail records show Rostrosolis was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and driving under the influence of alcohol causing great bodily injury. He was released Sunday after posting bond on $75,000 bail, the records show.
The case was being investigated by the Menifee Sheriff’s Station Traffic Reconstruction Team. Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call the station at (951) 210-1000, the department said.
