A crash in Murrieta killed one person and sent three people to the hospital on Tuesday afternoon.
Officers from the Murrieta Police Department received a call about a crash at Whitewood and Baxter roads at around 1:05 p.m., the department said in a press release.
Two vehicles were involved in the crash, and a woman who was a passenger in one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said two other women and a minor were sent to the hospital with various injuries from the crash. One of the women received serious injuries.
Officials withheld the name of the woman killed in the crash until family is notified.
The intersection where the crash happened was closed to through traffic until around 7:20 p.m., but police said the intersection would be shut down again on Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for continued investigation.
