San Bernardino bicyclist ID’d after deadly collision with car in Highland hit-and-run

Sheriff’s investigators were searching for the driver who struck and killed a 53-year-old bicyclist in Highland Monday night, Jan. 21, before fleeing.

The victim was identified Tuesday as Dereck Alexander of San Bernardino, the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office said.

Personnel with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and Cal Fire’s San Bernardino unit responded to the incident at Sterling Avenue and 9th Street at around 8:30 p.m.
