An on-duty Los Angeles Police Department motorcycle officer was injured after a crash with another vehicle in Jurupa Valley on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 29.

The male officer was on his way to work when he and his motorcycle were involved in a collision with a vehicle, an Acura, in the area of Camino Real and Jurupa Road, said Deputy Robyn Flores, public information officer for the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies arrived on scene shortly after 3:30 p.m.

Paramedics transported the officer to a local hospital, where he was treated for minor injures, Flores said. At the scene, the driver of the Acura cooperated with deputies during the investigation. Authorities do not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash. Several traffic lanes were closed briefly to traffic.

The injured officer, who was on duty, is a member of the LAPD West Traffic Division and was on his way to work from home, said LAPD Officer Mike Lopez.
