A motorist was killed Saturday night, Dec. 22, in a crash on the 60 Freeway near Moreno Valley.
The crash was reported at 7:39 p.m. in the westbound lanes east of Gilman Springs Road, the California Highway Patrol log said. Witnesses said the vehicle went off the side of the highway.
Firefighters said a second patient was evaluated by paramedics and declined further treatment.

The crash was originally reported as a single-vehicle rollover. Another witness said there were six vehicles involved. An off-duty CHP officer reported that there were 12 vehicles stopped on the right shoulder with two blocking a lane on a blind curve. The discrepancies could not immediately be clarified.
The Riverside County Coroner’s Office was called at 8:06 p.m., the CHP log said.
