Teen suffers leg injury in off-road crash near Moreno Valley

A teenager suffered a leg injury Thursday, Nov. 22, in a motorcycle crash just east of Moreno Valley.

The boy, whose identity was not released, had the solo accident about 1:35 p.m. while riding a dirt bike or similar two-wheeler through hilly terrain northeast of the intersection of Alessandro Boulevard and Gilman Springs Road, in a remote area known as the Badlands, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP said the victim flagged down passers-by, who called 911.

The teen suffered a cut to one of his thighs and was taken to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley, according to reports from the scene.

CHP officers were investigating the crash.
