A motorcyclist died Sunday, Oct. 7, after colliding with a vehicle at a Hemet intersection, the Hemet Police Department said.

The collision happened just before 11 a.m. on San Jacinto Street near Morton Place, south of Florida Avenue, a Tuesday news release said.

Preliminary results of the investigation showed that Marco Martinez, 28, of San Jacinto, was riding south on San Jacinto Street and the vehicle driver was headed east on Morton. The vehicle pulled out from a stop sign in front of the motorcycle in an attempt to turn left onto San Jacinto. Martinez could not stop in time and collided with the vehicle, the release said.
