Alta Loma man dies in single-car crash in Ontario

A 30-year-old man died Tuesday, Sept. 11, when the car he was driving at what police said was a high rate of speed crashed into a cement barrier in Ontario, then launched into a drainage ditch.

Police said the 6:11 p.m. crash was near Jurupa Street and Archibald Avenue. The driver, an Alta Loma resident, was declared dead at the scene, according to a news release.

No one else was involved in the crash. The man was not identified, pending notification of relatives. Ontario Police traffic investigators are looking into the cause.
