The California Highway Patrol said one man is dead after a crash near Cedar Avenue on the 10 Freeway in Bloomington on Tuesday afternoon.
The CHP said a man in his 50s was driving east on the 10 when he crashed into the guard rail for reasons that are under investigation. Officers were dispatched to the crash just before 2 p.m.
The man died at the site of the crash, according to officials, but they don’t know whether he died due to a medical emergency or from injuries he sustained during the crash. His identity wasn’t immediately released.
“There is reason to believe it was a medical emergency, but we won’t know for sure until we get a coroner’s report,” said CHP Officer Brian Alvarez.
The CHP said the crash caused no lanes of traffic to be closed on the 10.
