Moreno Valley woman dies, three people injured in rollover crash on 10 Freeway in Desert Center

DESERT CENTER — A 40-year-old woman was fatally injured and three others were hurt Sunday in a rollover crash on Interstate 10 in Desert Center today, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 11 a.m. near Rice Road, Tawny Cabral of the Riverside Fire Department said.

Rachel Lopez of Moreno Valley suffered major injuries. She was taken to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio, where she died about two hours later, according to the Riverside Sheriff’s Department and the coroner’s office.

Three others suffered minor injuries, Cabral said.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
