A Highland man has been arrested on suspicion of felony hit and run driving in connection with a pedestrian collision last month that has left the victim still hospitalized Sunday, Sheriff’s deputies said.
Aaron Steward, 27, was arrested late Thursday, San Bernardino County jail records show, and made bond Friday. Deputies working in Grand Terrace had spotted him and his vehicle the day before his arrest, a Sunday news release said.
Investigators had earlier identified the vehicle involved in the 11:30 p.m. June 30 incident at Sterling Avenue and Baseline Street in Highland. A 28-year-old San Bernardino man was struck by a vehicle while crossing Sterling Avenue. The driver did not stop, deputies said.
The man’s injuries were described Sunday as still “very serious.” Authorities have not released his name.
The Highland station asks anyone with information on the case to call Detective Bell at (909) 425-9793 extension 246.
