Crash between freight train, tractor-trailer in Pomona could delay Metrolink service

Metrolink train service to and from Riverside may be affected Thursday afternoon after a freight train struck a tractor trailer along the tracks in Pomona earlier in the day, Metrolink officials said.

The crash did not involve a Metrolink train, said Mike Atchue, spokesman for Metrolink.

The crash was reported around 3:15 a.m., said Atchue and caused delays in the morning train service prompting officials to reroute trains and use buses to get commuters to their destinations.

Authorities advised commuters to check the Metrolink Twitter and website for updates about service on the line.
