Big rig crash on I-10 kills driver in Fontana early Monday

Wrecker crews were clearing a big rig, after it crashed into trees along the west 10 freeway in Fontana, killing the driver Monday morning.

The crash happened June 18 at about 1:30 a.m. Work crews needed to clear trees and dig up contaminated soil at the site before all lanes could be reopened.

As of 9:30 a.m. two lanes were still shut down between Citrus and Cherry avenues. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
