A motorist pinned beneath an overturned SUV suffered major injuries Saturday just off of Interstate 15, about two miles southwest of Lake Elsinore.
The solo-vehicle crash occurred at about 3:45 p.m. on Hostettler and Temescal Canyon roads in Alberhill, according to Jody Hagemann of the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
The victim had to be freed from under the SUV by firefighters and suffered a broken arm, among other injuries, the California Highway Patrol reported.
An air ambulance landed on nearby Lake Street and took the victim to a hospital.
One other person suffered minor injuries, the CHP said.
The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
Traffic on the 15 was temporarily backed up into Corona. Motorists had stopped to take pictures, the CHP said.
