ROWLAND HEIGHTS — A 75-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Rowland Heights on Monday night, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 7 p.m. in the 1800 block of Saleroso Drive at Rio Bonito Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The woman and her husband were crossing the street when she was struck by a four-door silver Pontiac going south on Saleroso Drive. According to her husband, the driver did not stop and accelerated after striking his wife, the CHP said.
The woman was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. She was not immediately identified.
The CHP on Monday night sought the public’s help in finding the driver of the vehicle that struck the woman. On Tuesday afternoon, the CHP said in a tweet that the driver had surrendered. The driver’s identity and other details were not immediately made public.
