Man found dead after San Bernardino hit-and-run collision is identified

The man found dead after being run over in a hit-and-run collision Thursday in San Bernardino was identified Saturday, June 2, as Thomas Peter Shierts of San Bernardino.

Shierts was 62, the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office said.

Shierts was walking on the west side of the 2700 block of Del Rosa Avenue about 10:30 p.m. when he crossed the street west to east and was struck by a southbound vehicle, San Bernardino police Lt. Mike Madden said. The vehicle didn’t stop as required by law.

Police ask that anyone with information on the collision call 909-384-5742.
