Pomona man killed in crash is identified

POMONA — The man killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Pomona was a resident of that city, authorities said today.

He was Shugeith Gonzalez Alvia, 41, coroner’s Investigator Kristy McCracken said.

The crash happened about 9:05 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Towne and Kingsley avenues, police said.

Responding officers found that the crash involved multiple vehicles. Some of the people suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene. Two people were taken to a hospital for treatment of more serious injuries. The patient now identified as Gonzalez Alvia died at the hospital, police said.
