A man who crashed his car into two other parked vehicles in a Pomona neighborhood on Sunday was found with a gunshot wound to his upper torso and was seriously injured, police said.
The Pomona man, 39, was driving southbound on Cordova Street just before 2 p.m. when he was shot at least once, according to a Pomona Police Department statement. His name was not immediately released.
The victim then plowed into at least two cars near the corner of Cordova Street as it becomes Elysian Street.
When police found the man, he “was slumped over the steering wheel and medical aid was rendered immediately,” according to the statement. He was then taken to a local hospital where he was in grave condition late Sunday.
There was no description of a suspect. Police also did not say whether the suspect fired from another vehicle or was on foot. Detectives were investigating whether the shooting was gang-related.
