Authorities Thursday identified a motorcyclist who was killed in a head-on collision with a vehicle in Covina.

The crash occurred about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday on Reeder Avenue near Puente Street, the Covina Police Department reported.

Brent Edwards, 40, of Covina died at the scene, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office reported.

According to police, the motorcycle was going northbound on Reeder Avenue when it collided with a BMW headed south on Reeder.

“Preliminary investigation shows that the motorcyclist crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the BMW,” a police statement said. “The driver of the BMW had no injuries and was not suspected of driving under the influence.”
