CORONA — Authorities Tuesday identified a Lake Elsinore man who was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Corona.

Jason Garzon, 26, died at the scene of the crash, which occurred about 2:15 p.m. Monday on southbound Temescal Canyon Road, south of Indian Truck Trail, according to the Riverside County coroner’s office.

Garzon was driving a 2017 Ford Fusion approaching a curve bearing left but for reasons still under investigation continued straight and onto the dirt shoulder on the west side of the roadway, according to California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Dan Olivas.

The Ford struck a fire hydrant and Garzon was ejected.
