The 35-year-old pregnant woman from Ontario who died in a collision on the 71 Freeway in Chino Hills was identified Monday by officials as Jacqueline “Jackey” Dominguez. Her unborn fetus also died.
A GoFundMe page established to help the family said Dominguez was 6 months’ pregnant and had two teenage boys.
“Jackey was a dear friend to so many. Her personality exuded honesty and she was truly a dedicated worker at Lally Medical Group,” said the page’s tribute titled “We will miss you Jackey Dominguez.”
Dominguez was traveling south in a Hyundai sedan at about 10 a.m. April 28 when traffic backed up as the lanes merged near Butterfield Ranch Road, said California Highway Patrol Sgt. Ronald Burch. As traffic slowed, a BMW rear-ended the Hyundai, pushing it into the back of a pickup truck, which then rear-ended a tanker truck carrying milk, Burch said.
“The driver of the Hyundai (Jacqueline Dominguez ) and her unborn fetus were transported to Pomona Valley Medical Center via ambulance where they succumbed to their injuries,” a CHP release stated Monday.
Burch said the driver of the pickup was treated for minor injuries.
