A man was sent to a hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a bus on Monday afternoon in Fontana, authorities said.
At 4:24 p.m., Fontana police responded to a traffic collision in the area of Sierra and Upland Avenues involving a male pedestrian and an Omni-Trans Bus, police said. Officer Jay Sayegh said the man was sent to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, but no further update on his condition was immediately available.
The bus was traveling southbound when it struck the man in the road, police said – an undetermined number of passengers were on the bus at the time.

Southbound Sierra Avenue was closed between Upland and Seville Avenues while police investigated – the road was expected to be closed until about 9 p.m., Sayegh said.
