Three mobile home units were briefly evacuated by firefighters in Corona after a car struck a residential gas meter Monday morning, then fled the scene, a city spokeswoman said.
The 9:02 a.m. incident at the 1100 block of Greenhill Way caused a natural gas leak, prompting the evacuations, said spokeswoman Brittany Ritzi Foust.
Southern California Gas Company workers cut off the gas flow at 10:15 a.m. and the evacuations ended, said Gas Company spokeswoman Christine Detz. She said the crew was repairing the meter.
