Fontana police on Wednesday morning, May 2, saved the life of a man who was partially ejected from his car after being involved in three collisions, including one hit-and-run.

The driver of a silver Honda Civic was in a collision at Sierra and Miller avenues. While trying to flee, Sgt. Kevin Goltara said, he sped east on Miller. The driver ran a stop sign at Palmetto Avenue and Miller, where he hit a truck that was turning onto Palmetto from Miller.

The driver, who was not publicly identified, also struck a van stopped at the stop sign on Palmetto. The Honda driver was partially ejected. Officers found him unresponsive and used CPR to restart his heart and his breathing, Goltara said.

The driver of the truck suffered an injured leg and was hospitalized.
