Ontario crash sends one person to the hospital, shears fire hydrant

A two-vehicle collision on Fourth Street in Ontario sent one person to the hospital and sheared off a fire hydrant Tuesday afternoon.

Ontario police and fire personnel responded around 5:30 p.m. to the scene at Fourth Street and Turner Avenue. One person was taken to a hospital with a complaint of pain, police said.

A black sedan with front-end damage came to rest in the intersection, facing north. A white vehicle struck a fire hydrant on the southwest corner of the intersection.

Details about how the crash happened were not immediately available.

A tow truck arrived to begin removing the vehicles about 6:15 p.m.
