A motorist was taken into custody after a pursuit and brief standoff Monday evening on the 10 Freeway in Pomona.
A call came in to the California Highway Patrol at 7:16 p.m. about a car swerving in and out lanes on the westbound 10 Freeway. A vehicle stop was attempted, and the driver failed to yield, according to CHP Officer Tony Polizzi in the traffic management center.
About 7:30 p.m. the car — a light-colored sedan — came to a stop on the westbound 10 Freeway, just west of the 57 Freeway, in the Pomona area. The driver, wearing a white t-shirt and dark pants, was taken into custody just before 8 p.m. when a group of officers approached the car.
Traffic on the westbound 10 Freeway was diverted to the 57 Freeway, and after a few minutes, all lanes on the 10 Freeway were re-opened, Polizzi said.
Information about the driver and whether that person will face any charges was not immediately available. It also was unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the incident.
