A Dana Point man was killed when his vehicle rolled over and he was ejected on Thanksgiving Day in Menifee, authorities said.

He was identified as Benjamin Ptashne, 29, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.

Ptashne was pronounced dead at 11:13 a.m. Thursday at Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, the coroner said.

There were no passengers in the car and Ptashne was not wearing a seatbelt, according to a California Highway Patrol report on the crash.

Firefighters responded just after 8:30 a.m. Thursday to the single-vehicle rollover on Antelope Road north of Newport Road, according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

Ptashne was driving a 2010 Toyota at high speed north on the 215 Freeway when he lost control as he tried to pass a vehicle. His car struck a concrete median barrier, rotated, crossed traffic lanes and overturned onto Antelope, a road which parallels the freeway.
