ANZA — Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the circumstances behind a hit and run two-vehicle collision that seriously injured two men Friday, the department said in a statement Saturday.

The accident, which occurred at about 4:30 p.m. in the 59700 block of Everett Road, involved a pick-up truck and a quad vehicle.

Two adult males in the quad were airlifted to hospitals.

The pick-up truck driver left the accident scene, the statement said.

“Witness statements and physical evidence suggested the incident was the result of marijuana plants that were stolen from a nearby property,” the statement said.

No arrests have been made and no further information will be released at this time, the statement said.

Anyone with information about this incident is invited to contact the Hemet Station at 951-791-3400.
