Two people were killed Friday in an early-morning crash not far from Hemet-Ryan Airport, Hemet police said.
The crash occurred about 4:50 a.m. on Stetson Avenue, between Warren Road and Cawston Avenue, when a 2016 Dodge Dart collided head-on into a 2015 Toyota Corolla, killing both drivers, police said.

Investigators learned that the driver of the Dodge was traveling east on Stetson, east of Warren, about 55 to 60 miles per hour when the motorist drifted into the westbound lane, colliding with the Corolla, which was approaching Warren at about 50 to 55 mph.
Police do not know what caused the driver to drift into oncoming traffic, and the investigation is ongoing. Neither driver was immediately identified. There were no passengers in either vehicle, police said.
Stetson was closed between Warren and Cawston for approximately four hours while the collision investigation was conducted.
