A 34-year-old Fullerton man was arrested on suspicion of felony evading and DUI after authorities say he drove the wrong way on streets in Rancho Cucamonga and into Riverside County on Sunday night before he crashed, according to a San Bernardino County sheriff’s news release.

A deputy was stopped at Milliken Avenue and Fourth Street in Rancho Cucamonga about 10:50 p.m. when he heard a man screaming and yelling expletives in a business parking lot before driving away at a high speed southbound in the northbound lane of Milliken.

The suspect, identified as Nathan Darrington, 34, of Fullerton, failed to yield to a deputy’s lights and sirens for several miles at speeds up to 100 mph, endangering other motorists before moving into the correct southbound lane as he continued into Riverside County.

The suspect attempted a turn and lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a chain link fence.

Darrington remains in custody at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga. Bail was set at $100,000, according to jail records.
