A woman died early Monday in a single-car crash on the 210 Freeway in Fontana.

The woman was driving east at 3:25 a.m. in a 1996 Toyota Camry when the car veered right near the off-ramp to Sierra Avenue, according to a California Highway Patrol news release; officers are still investigating what caused her to do so.

The car hit the embankment, went airborne, crashed into the Sierra Avenue overcrossing, flipped and landed on its roof on the right shoulder of the freeway, the news release said.

The driver was taken to a hospital where she later died. Her name has not been released.
