CHINO >> Firefighters worked to free a person from a mangled vehicle following a crash involving a tractor trailer Tuesday morning in Chino, officials said.

“Firefighters are in the process of extricating a single male patient from the vehicle,” said Massiel Ladron De Guevara, spokeswoman for the Chino Valley Fire District. Once the critically injured person was freed, paramedics took him or her to an area trauma center.

The crash took place before 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Pine and Mill Creek avenues in Chino.
