YUCAIPA >> A pickup truck veered off Yucaipa Boulevard midday Tuesday, running down several Yucaipa High School students waiting at a bus stop, Cal Fire officials said.

Shortly before 12:30 p.m., several people called 911 to report a silver pickup truck hitting five students at a bus stop across from Yucaipa High School, 33000 Yucaipa Blvd.

Sheriff’s deputies at the scene said a boy who attends the school was leaving campus, making a left turn onto Yucaipa Boulevard, when the engine revved. Authorities said he lost control and the truck careened into the bus stop.
