Rialto man killed, another person critically injured in 91 Freeway crash in Riverside

A 36-year-old Rialto man was killed and another person was critically injured in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday, May 14, on the 91 Freeway in Riverside.

The crash was reported at 1:46 a.m. in the eastbound lanes east of 14th Street, according to a California Highway Patrol incident log. The fatal victim was identified as Gregory Sanchez, according to a Riverside County Sheriff/Coroner news release.

The car rolled over several times, and one victim, later identified as Sanchez, was ejected from the car, said Riverside Fire Department Battalion Chief Tony Perna. The other victim was extricated from the car and taken to a hospital in critical condition, Perna said.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
